Realm of Empires is a massive multiplayer real-time strategy game, set in medieval times. You start your adventure as a noble, with control over a single town. You must construct new buildings, upgrade old ones, and recruit an army to defend your town. Eventually you will expand your empire and control many towns, but you will need help. In Realm of Empires you need allies to survive, so you will need to join a clan or create your own, but you will need superior numbers to defeat your enemies. A newly added tech tree allows your empire to research technologies to unlock new units and help your empire flourish.
New players will be met with a beginners tutorial that will show them the basics of how the main features of the game work, and the many quests available will keep your empire on the right track. Realm of Empires was designed around the basis that you only need to play 15 minutes a day to remain competitive, so you won't need to quit your job to be a dominating force in your realm.
